When Inspiration Dries Up, I Drew a Crying Animation — And Found Myself Again
I used to believe creativity had to be polished, purposeful. A product. But when the well ran dry last winter—my third month of staring at blank screens—I realized something deeper was missing.
So I did what felt wrong: I made something ugly.
Not by accident. By choice.
The First Tear: A Loop That Wept
I opened ComfyUI and fed it a simple prompt: “a glowing eye slowly shedding tears in zero gravity.” No script. No plan. Just feeling.
For three hours, I tweaked opacity curves and particle behaviors until it looked like sorrow had weight—like grief could float in space.
It wasn’t art for an audience. It was art for me.
And when it played on loop at midnight? The tears weren’t digital—they were real.
Why Tears Are Not Weakness (They’re Data)
We’re taught to hide our cracks. To present only finished work. But in that quiet room with dim light and headphones on, I learned:
- Emotion is data — every flicker of color or tremble in motion holds truth.
- Imperfection is permission — if you can feel it, others will too.
- Process > Product — the act of making is healing when you’re not trying to impress anyone.
That night changed everything. I stopped asking “Is this good?” and started asking “Does this feel true?”
How I Use Motion Design as Emotional Alchemy Now
Today, my creative rituals are built around honesty:
- Morning: 10 minutes of free-form animation (no tools allowed except Figma + AE). Just shapes dancing like emotions without words.
- Midday: A quick sketch of how my body feels—tense shoulders become jagged lines; calm breath becomes soft waves.
- Evening: One looping piece per week—always imperfect—and upload it with no caption but one word: “today.”
No likes needed. Only presence. This isn’t performance—it’s prayer through pixels. The algorithm doesn’t care about authenticity—but you do. The moment you stop pretending you have answers… you begin to create them from within, in real time, in real feeling, in real light, as slow as a tear falling through air, down into stillness, down into becoming again.

Ketika inspirasi kering, aku bukan bikin konten—aku cuma nangis di depan layar kosong. Figma? Tidak perlu. Deadline? Sudah lupa. Yang penting: air mata jadi bahan baku, bukan engagement rate. Kakakku bilang: ‘Jangan ikut tren, tapi ikut hati.’
